Since Tumblr was down last night, I’m just now posting yesterday’s workout! I wasn’t planning on working out, but since I’ve been feeling really stressed about my weight, etc etc, I went to Lifetime to run after margarita night. Luckily one drink didn’t affect me too much and I was able to do an hour long treadmill workout.
60 minutes on treadmill= Ran 4.1 miles, walked 1 mile
(R .5, W .2, R .8, W .2, R 1.0, W .2, R 1.1, W .2, R .7, W .2)

Cardio + My 2nd Swim Lesson
Kelsey and I headed back to the gym again yesterday to do some cardio and swimming. I said I was going to kick my workouts up a notch and I definitely did! I did intervals on the treadmill and it was way more difficult than running at a steady pace, but it also made the time go by a lot faster. I usually get really bored on the treadmill, but this workout was kinda fun! New workout=success. I just guessed on the intervals I should do, but next time I’ll look up a good interval workout.

38 minutes on the treadmill
Jog .2 (level 5), run .25 (level 7.5), repeat for 3.1 miles (some variation)
1/2 mile cooldown (walking)
22 minutes on the AMT
20 minutes swimming

Yesterday’s swim lesson went great! Besides my first try when I immediately swallowed a ton of water and came up coughing in the middle of the lane (embarrassing). We started off with the kick boards so I could practice keeping my butt up. Kelsey also gave me some great advice on turning my head properly. Apparently I was following the motion of my arm with my head, instead of putting my face directly back into the water. Once she told me not to do that and showed me the right way to do it, swimming got so much easier!
I’m still no pro, but I swam a length and a half without stopping! This might not seem like a lot to most people, but I couldn’t even do half a length before without swallowing water and needing to stop. And this time I only stopped because I don’t have enough swimming endurance. After Kelsey’s advice, breathing seemed more purposeful, like I was doing it the right way, instead of just swimming and then gasping for air every 3 strokes, if that makes any sense (yay for run-on sentences). We didn’t swim for very long, but I definitely feel like I made progress. Yay!

Kelsey stopped to pick up Chipotle on the way home… what an awesome sister :) And now I have 1/2 left over for after today’s workout! Yummm.

5k Training: Week 5 Days 3 & 4
Well since I’ve been feeling extremely lazy the last couple of days, I am VERY proud of myself for going out running today and doing both today AND yesterday’s workouts! I was planning on taking a rest day again today so I’m excited that I got a workout in. First, I ran 2.5 miles with Dakota Joey and then I did my 7x400 interval workout, which was totally brutal. Afterwards I did another .65 mile cool down. So I got in my 3 mile run and my interval workout :)
