Not only did I go to my first spin class in over a year this week, but I also did a cardio kickboxing class last night for the first time in waayyy too long! I forgot how much I love it. It’s a million times easier to get myself to workout when it’s fun and it’s with a bunch of other people who are sweating and dying as much as I am.
The only problem… my knees were starting to hurt towards the end of the class, so I’m not sure if I could handle cardio kickboxing on a regular basis. Stupid runner’s knee. I might try the class again and just stop if they start hurting or only plan on going for a half hour. But either way, I’m excited to start doing classes again!!

Cardio Kickboxing time!!!

Have I really not done this class in over a year? Stephanie (stephgetsstrong.tumblr.com) and I used to do this class together every week and I LOVED it! Maybe my sister will go with me this summer :)

This was the first spin class I’ve done in over a year!!! And I can’t feel my legs now. We were out of the saddle for more than half the time and the instructor also incorporated some arm work in with the spinning. It. Was. Brutal. For those of you who didn’t see my earlier post, I reaaallyyy didn’t want to workout today due to the terrible mood I was in. I probably wouldn’t have gone if I didn’t look at the class schedule and see a spin class at the perfect time. I figured it would be the best workout for me tonight since I can’t really let my mind wander with my legs on fire, an instructor yelling at me to pedal faster, and loud music blasting in my ears.
I probably won’t be able to move tomorrow, let alone do the cardio kickboxing class I was planning on going to, but I’m happy I went tonight. And who knows, maybe I’ll suck it up and still do kickboxing tomorrow. I miss doing classes at Lifetime… this was a much needed workout.

Ever go workout when you’re in a bad mood…

and it puts you in an even worse mood? That happens to me a lot actually (I think running and working out give me too much time to think sometimes), and I’m worried that’s what will happen tonight. Maybe I’ll try reading my new book and see if I get into it? It’s going to take a whole lot more motivation than I have right now to get me in that gym after work :/

I’m excited for this one… it doesn’t start until 7:30pm on a Thursday night in June, so I think I might stay downtown and take that Friday off work! Oooh getting excited for a long weekend 2 months in advance… I clearly need more excitement in my life.

This workout was a little rough after beer and greasy (delicious) chicken fingers… but that’s all the more reason to go workout, right? Hopefully I at least burned off the Blue Moons I drank. I’m feeling really motivated today to get back in shape and eat healthy, so I went to Lifetime to do some weight lifting and cardio! I’m hoping this round of motivation sticks around longer than the last one did… fingers crossed!
