1 hour spin classes + 2 mile run on the treadmill. Solid cardio workout. I need to start adding in some strength training workouts though!! (Taken with instagram)

It’s really not as hard as it sounds!! And since it’s on my iPad, I just set it on the treadmill ledge and crank up the font size to make it bigger and easier to read while I’m running. I can’t read if I’m running fast or doing a sprint workout, but for leisurely runs it’s nice to have something to keep my brain occupied so I’m not thinking about how much I want to stop running!!
And also, I was reading Fifty Shades of Grey… definitely a hard to book to read when there might be someone peeking over your shoulder, not that anyone is really doing that at the gym… but still. If you’ve read it or heard of it, you know what I’m talking about ;)

I went to Lifetime to run 2 miles and do some leg work, but then I got really into the book I was reading, so I ran farther AND did 35 unplanned minutes on the bike (as well as lifting legs) and ended up getting a helluva workout in! (Hello, run-on sentence…)
Cardio:
50 minutes on the treadmill (ran 3 miles, walked 1 mile)
35 minutes on the bike (8 miles)
Leg Circuit (repeat 3 times):
Leg Press- 40 lbs, 15 reps
20 lunges in place
1 min. wall sit
Dinner:
Tortilla crusted tilapia, corn on the cob, and strawberry yogurt. YUM.

For the first time in awhile, I don’t have to follow a training schedule! So for a month, my only focus is weight loss. Which means adding in more non-running workouts and some weight lifting. Then, in a month, I’ll have to start training for the Chicago Marathon… dun dun duunnn!!
Lifting Routine:
1st Circuit (repeat 3 times):
Tricep Pressdown- 40 lbs, 12 reps
10 (girl) push-ups
14 minutes on the treadmill (1 mile run, .2 mile walk)
2nd Circuit (repeat 3 times):
Shoulder Press with 15 lb. dumbbells- 12 reps
Lateral Raises with 7.5 lb. dumbbells- 12 reps
Bicep curl with 20 lb. bar- 12 reps
16 minutes on the treadmill (1 mile run, .3 mile walk)
15 minutes on the bike (4 miles)
Post-workout dinner: Fantastic teriyaki chicken and buffalo chicken rice with Cholula sauce. This is becoming a Monday traditional and I love it.

Half Marathon Training, Day 21: 4 Mile Run
My plan was to run a couple miles and then do cardio, but I got in the zone on the treadmill! In an hour I ran 4 miles and walked a mile. Not bad considering I ran 5 yesterday. I can feel myself getting back into running shape :) Plus my knees don’t hurt! Whoooo!!

Half Marathon Training, Day 16: Cardio
Today’s workout was short and easy… just what I needed! My back has been hurting from running, so I decided to do a little bit of cardio with a short run instead of doing my full 3.5 mile run. Hopefully it’ll start feeling better soon!
15 minutes on the treadmill (1 mile run, .3 mile walk)
17 minutes on the AMT

Craig got a membership at Charter Fitness and he can bring me with him every time he goes!! I am so excited about this. Having him to workout with will hopefully be the push I need to get back in shape. We’ve already made plans to workout every Monday and Friday after work :) Yay!
Today’s workout:
30 minutes on the AMT
15 minutes on the treadmill (ran 1 mile in 8:47 + cool down)

Since Tumblr was down last night, I’m just now posting yesterday’s workout! I wasn’t planning on working out, but since I’ve been feeling really stressed about my weight, etc etc, I went to Lifetime to run after margarita night. Luckily one drink didn’t affect me too much and I was able to do an hour long treadmill workout.

I worked out at Lifetime today for 3 hours!! It was mostly because I was in a bad mood, but hey whatever works, right? I lifted first and then did 2 hours of cardio. It wasn’t so bad once the much needed endorphins kicked in, but I’ll probably be feeling it tomorrow.

2 miles, 20:40 minutes
This run SUCKED, but I’m happy I did it. I can tell I’m really out of shape, because I was struggling. I was also in a time crunch, so I was running faster than I would have liked to. My heart was pounding, my face was pouring sweat, and my chest hurt from running in the basement (dust? I don’t know). All the reasons I need to run more and get back to enjoying it. It will happen, and I’m happy my sister and I are signed up for a Turkey Trot so I have a good reason to start running more. Next week I might even break out my running tights! Get excited.

2 miles, 22:46 minutes
I have to be honest, the only reason I ran tonight was because I told you all I was going to run today, no matter what. But hey, that’s what you’re here for, right? This run was kind of a wake up call. Yea I ran a marathon last month… but GOOD LORD I’m out of shape!! I’m looking forward to being able to workout more after this next week of hell. I think it’ll be fun getting back into shape and refocusing my blog back to health and fitness, woot woot!!
